Frequently Asked Questions

How much will it cost to make and bottle my sauce?

Because there are so many variables that need to be considered, it is virtually impossible for Endorphin Farms, Inc. to give an accurate estimate on the cost of making your product.  We first need to know the ingredients used in your recipe, how much of each ingredient is used and what type of bottle you will be using for your product.  The only upfront fee you need to pay is a $250 fee to cover the cost of making a sample of your recipe to ensure that we can reproduce your product to your satisfaction.  This fee is fully refundable upon the first full production run of your finished product (a minimum of 300 cases).

What is the minimum number of cases needed to be produced?

Endorphin Farms, Inc requires a minimum of 300 cases to be produced for any given product.

How can I be sure my recipe won't be stolen or duplicated?

By signing the Trade Secret / Non-Disclosure Agreement , Endorphin Farms Inc. guarantees that your recipe will remain secure.  We will never allow your recipe to be shared or duplicated with any other bottling company or customer.

How do I go about getting the nutritional information for my label?

Although Endorphin Farms Inc does not design or produce the labels for your product, we can provide you with a detailed listing of all the ingredients and/or additives that are included in your product.  This information can be provided to your labeling company who will assist you with the nutritional information requirements.

How do I convert my small recipe to a large production recipe?

Endorphin Farms Inc takes all the hard work out of converting a small recipe to a large batch recipe.  As long as your recipe contains an accurate way to measure the ingredients (tsp, cups, tbs, etc...), we can convert the recipe for you.   Avoid using measurements  like 'a pinch', ' a dash', etc. as it is virtually impossible to get an accurate measurement for large batch recipes.

Another important step is to avoid using name brand products as ingredients (ex. Hunts ketchup, French's Mustard, etc.). The first reason for this is that it is often difficult to obtain a source for these ingredients in industrial quantities, and secondly, you are paying much more by using a branded ingredient that will increase the cost of your product considerably. Try to keep your recipe in the "most basic commodity form" possible ... Ketchup, Sugar, Olive Oil, Salt and so on...

How long does it take to get my sauce from the development stages to production?

Again, this is a difficult question to give a specific answer to as there are many factors that come into play.  It depends on whether you have your own recipe or if you need Endorphin Farms Inc to work with you to develop one from scratch...do you have your label design already or do you need to work with a label company to design one for you...does the first sample of your product meet your expectations or do we need to tweak the recipe a bit...

How do I market and distribute my product?

If your desire is to target the grocery trade, you may need to consider a food broker. Food brokers charge a percentage of sales , usually 5%. However, many larger brokers have minimum annual fees of $25k or more. Consult your local phone directory and call some brokers. If they cannot offer any assistance, they may be able to direct you to a smaller broker who can.  Another approach is to call and ask the grocer directly how to approach them. They will often offer advice on the best way for you to present your item. They may insist on a broker, or they may be willing to work with you directly.

How can I be sure that my product will not spoil on the shelf?

Endorphin Farms, Inc. uses the services of ABC Labs in Gainesville FL to test the acidity and ph levels in all food products manufactured in its plant.  This service, also called a Processing Authority, provides Endorphin Farms Inc information regarding the cooking and/or chilling requirements needed to guarantee the quality and safety of every product.  Most other co-packing companies require you to initiate this process and pay 100% of the cost prior to starting a production run.  However, at Endorphin Farms, Inc., we understand that this process can be expensive for a company that is starting out.  So, not only will we send your recipe to ABC Labs for a Processing Authority, we will also split the cost  with you - an estimated savings of $300.

How do I get started?

This is the most common question asked by  individuals getting started.  We have put together a helpful checklist that you can use to guide you thru the steps of getting your sauce from the kitchen to the stores.  Click HERE to obtain a copy of the 'Getting Started Checklist'.
